HOW LONG DOES BREAST MILK JAUNDICE LAST?

When a baby has prolonged jaundice, ie. jaundice beyond 2 weeks of life (for babies who are not born premature), blood and urine investigations will done to find the possible causes.

If all results are normal, baby can be diagnosed with BREAST MILK JAUNDICE.

Breast milk jaundice is a type of neonatal jaundice which occurs in babies who are exclusively breastfed or babies who is on mostly breast milk. Baby is usually healthy, with normal weight gain.
